Karl Schneeberg

Karl Schneeberg (born October 29, 1894 in Zielow ; † April 8, 1946 in Schwerin ; also Carl Schneeberg ) was a German educator , administrative officer and politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school in Rittermannshagen , the preparatory institute in Neukloster and another school in Klockenhagen , Schneeberg completed the teachers' seminar in Neukloster in 1913/14 . From 1914 to 1918 he took part in the First World War as a soldier . He worked from 1919 to 1922 as a primary school teacher in Marlow and from 1922 to 1929 in the same position in Schwerin. In addition, since 1924 he was a member of the main committee of the state adult education center and a board member of the German Peace Society in Schwerin. From 1929 to 1932 he was employed as a councilor in Schwerin. He then became chairman of the local committee of the AWO Schwerin.

Schneeberg joined the SPD in 1919 and was a city ​​councilor in Marlow from 1922 . At the end of the 1920s he acted as chairman of the working group of social democratic teachers for the Mecklenburg district and chairman of the socialist cultural community in Schwerin. In 1921 he was elected to the state parliament of the Free State of Mecklenburg-Schwerin , to which he belonged until 1933.
