Karl Schwarzkopf

Karl Emil Albert Schwarzkopf (born May 21, 1884 in Bockenheim ; † October 31, 1954 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen ) was a German lawyer , administrative officer and politician .

Life and work

Schwarzkopf studied law and political science, passed both state examinations and was awarded a Dr. jur. PhD . He then entered the Prussian administrative service as a court assessor . He worked in the Reich Justice Office from 1910 , moved to the Reich Office of the Interior in 1912 and became a government assessor in 1915. In 1917 he was appointed to the government council . In the same year he took over the representation of Reich Chancellor Theobald von Bethmann Hollweg in the main headquarters .

Schwarzkopf was appointed to the Reich Ministry of the Interior as a secret government councilor in 1918 and was active as a lecturer at the Reich Ministry of Economics from 1919 . From 1921 to 1924 he was General Secretary of the Provisional Reich Economic Council . From 1924 to 1939 and from 1946 to 1950 he acted as general director of the Landeskreditkasse in Kassel , from 1934 to 1935 and from 1947 to 1951 as chairman of the Association of German Savings Banks and Giro Centers . He was also President of the Kassel Chamber of Commerce and Industry from 1950 to 1952 .

Public offices

Schwarzkopf was State Secretary in the Reich Ministry of Economics in 1932/33 .
