Karl Theodor Pütter

Karl Theodor Pütter (born April 3, 1803 near Hagen ; † April 13, 1873 in Greifswald ) was a German lawyer and university professor . He worked at the University of Greifswald from 1832 until his death .

Life

Karl Theodor Pütter, son of the mayor of Hagen , attended the Joachimsthalsche Gymnasium in Berlin. He then studied from 1823 law , first at the University of Bonn and from 1825 at the University of Berlin . He received his doctorate in Berlin in 1827. He then did research on German law and published a work in 1831 on The Doctrine of Property According to German Law .

In 1832 Pütter was appointed to the University of Greifswald , where he worked until his death. He was initially an associate professor , then from 1845 a full professor . In Greifswald he gave lectures on canon law , marriage law , international law and aliens law .
