Karl Zimmermann (* 21st January 1951 in Kirchheim unter Teck ) is a German politician of the CDU and member of the Parliament of Baden-Wuerttemberg .

education and profession

After attending the elementary school in Gutenberg, which is now part of Lenningen , and graduating from the Ludwig-Uhland-Gymnasium in Kirchheim, Karl Zimmermann signed up for two years with the Bundeswehr in Ulm . After studying law for several semesters at the University of Tübingen , he started working at the State Police Department in Stuttgart in 1979 . In 1985 he passed the examination for a degree in administrative management at the Police University of Applied Sciences in Villingen-Schwenningen . From 1994 the State Criminal Police Office of Baden-Württemberg was his office. Its main tasks were the fight against white-collar crime , money laundering and profit skimming. His employment relationship has been suspended since his election to the state parliament in 2001. At that time, he was chief detective .

Political activity

From 1988 to 2001 Zimmermann was the first chairman of the CDU city association of Kirchheim and from 1999 to 2004 a member of the municipal council in Kirchheim unter Teck. Since 2004 he has been a member of the district council in the Esslingen district and since the beginning of the 13th electoral term on April 17, 2001 he has been a member of the Baden-Württemberg state parliament for the constituency 8 Kirchheim .
