The solitude of Karlshöhe (also Carlshöhe ) is a forester's lodge and hunting lodge belonging to the municipality of Esselbach in the Lower Franconian district of Main-Spessart .
geography
Karlshöhe is 445 m above sea level. NHN in the Spessart and belongs as an exclave in the Fürstlich Löwensteinschen Park to the municipality of Esselbach. The wasteland is located on the ridge of the building height between Hafenlohr and Heinrichsbach, which stretches to the northwest in the direction of Neubau . To the south-east, the slopes drop initially flat, then very steeply to the Wachengrund .
history
The forester's house was built with the hunting lodge in 1818 under Prince Carl von Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg as part of the establishment of the Löwenstein Wildlife Park .
