Karlkrone beer

Karlskrone is the registered trademark of the discounter group Aldi Süd and the discounter chains Hofer (Austria) and Aldi Suisse (Switzerland) belonging to the group , whose varieties are produced and bottled by various breweries . This means that the products can vary in taste depending on the brewery producing them.

Aldi Nord sells these products under the Maternus trademark . In the past, all beers from Aldi Nord were sold under the name Karlsquell , which is where the Karlskrone brand can be traced back. In 2007 only a few products (e.g. malt beer and the seasonal article Radler ) were offered under the Karlsquell name.

For Germany, the brewery Martens in Bocholt (Belgium) usually brews. Exceptions include promotional items (5-liter party keg for the 2006 soccer World Cup and 2008 European soccer championship ) and seasonal items ( mixed beer beverages ). The mixed beer beverages are brewed by the Braunschweig brewery, which is part of the Oettinger brewery . The manufacturing companies can generally differ regionally or change over time. An alcohol-free variant, an alcohol-free wheat beer, has also been available since May 2010.

For Austria, the Hofer discounter brand has its own beers (e.g. Märzen ) with this brand name. These are usually produced by the private brewery "Fritz Egger GmbH & Co" in Austria for Tigast Handelsgesellschaft mbH or by the Schlossbrauerei Eggenberg for the company "S. Spitz GesmbH ”, Linz.
