history

In 1292, Margrave Albrecht of Brandenburg pledged the land of Schivelbein to Nikolaus von Werle, naming the associated castle Corsenburg (= Karsbaum). In 1364 Otto the Roman received the Neumark with Schivelbein and the castles of Klanzig (now Polish: Kłącko), Ritzerow (Rycerzewko), Rützow (Rydzewo) and Karsbaum through the division of the Brandenburg lands with Margrave Ludwig . Karsbaum is also included in the Landbuch der Neumark in 1337 as part of the Schivelbein region.

Karsbaum was a very wealthy farming village. In 1884 there were 40 colonists and 13 owners.

In 1939 there were 329 residents in 98 households in the 2,224.5 hectare community. During this time there were seven farms in the village. The hilly landscape with meadows, forest and water was already a recreational area. The craft was represented by a blacksmith's shop and a shoemaker's shop. There was also an inn. The last mayor before 1945 was Herbert Dallmann.

Karsbaum belonged with Dohnafelde (Donatowo) to the district and registry office district of Klanzig (Kłącko) in the district court area of Schivelbein . Until the district reform in 1932, it was part of the Schivelbein district, which then became part of the Belgard (Persante) district.

At the beginning of March 1945, Russian troops marched into Karsbaum. Karsbaum came in Polish hand and the native population was from the village sold . Today Karsbaum is part of the rural municipality Brzeżno ( Briesen ) under the name Karsibór in the re-established Schivelbein district .
