The Kazakh Air Force ( Kazakh Әуе қорғанысы күштері , Russian Силы воздушной обороны Республики Казахстан ) maintain 19,000 soldiers and are divided into an air force base with eleven air forces .

The Kazakh Air Force is relatively modern equipped and the MiG-31M, MiG-29 and Su-27 give them the ability to repel a larger air strike.
As a further weapon systems are R-40 - air-to-air missiles , R-23 -air-air missiles, R-60 -air-air missiles, R-27 -air-air missiles, Ch- 23 - air-to-surface missiles , Ch-28 -air-to-surface missiles, Ch-25 -air-to-surface missiles, Ch-58 -air-to-surface missiles, Ch-25P -air-to- surface missiles, Ch- 59 -air-ground missiles, Ch-29 -air-to-ground missiles and 2K8-Falanga - antitank guided missiles used.
