Ch-29

The Ch-29 ( Russian Х-29 , NATO code name AS-14 Kedge ) is a supersonic tactical air-to-surface missile made by the Soviet Union for combating armored and bunkered ground targets. It can be used against a wide range of tactical targets, for example armored vehicles , air defense , ships , transport facilities, traffic systems and bunkered systems.

Development began in the mid-1970s at the state design office Wympel in Moscow . The system was introduced to the Soviet Air Force in 1980 .

Variants:

  • Ch-29T: With active TV self-steering, range 12 km
  • Ch-29TE: Improved Ch-29T, range 32 km
  • Ch-29L: With semi-active laser steering, range 28 km
  • Ch-29ML: Improved Ch-29L.
  • Ch-29MP: With active radar seeker in the K u band, range 12 km
  • Ch-29D: With an imaging IR camera with digital image processing, range 12 km
