Kaspar Weiler (* 1506 ; † 1580 ) was a Bavarian patrician .

Weiler is one of the numerous wealthy Munich patricians such as Pütrich , Ligsalz , Katzmair , Barth or Dichtl , who built their castles on the lakes in the foothills of the Alps in the 15th and 16th centuries in order to pass the time with hunts and boat trips in summer.

In the early 16th century, Weiler had a small Hofmark castle built on the property in Garatshausen on Lake Starnberg , which his father Hans Weiler had received from Duke Albrecht IV . Later the castle came into the possession of the Schrenck von Notzing , the Vieregg von Tutzing and the La Rosée . They sold it in 1834 to Duke Max , who in turn bequeathed it to his daughter Marie in 1862 , until it finally passed to the Princes of Thurn and Taxis in 1888 .

The Hofmark Königswiesen and Gautinger Castle Fußberg belonged for a time the family Weiler. In the Catholic parish church of St. Benedikt in Gauting, a glass painting donated by Weiler in 1551 reminds of the importance of the patrician family for the Würmtal. An epitaph of the Weiler family can be found in the Catholic parish church of St. Peter and Paul in Feldafing . There is also a settlement that belonged to Weiler's property.
