Kaspar Winter

Kaspar Winter (born February 7, 1869 in Klein-Welzheim , † July 16, 1950 in Mainz ) was a Hessian politician ( center ) and a member of the state parliament of the People's State of Hesse in the Weimar Republic .

Kaspar Winter was the son of the farmer Johann Adam Winter and his wife Maria Anna nee Maier. He married Anna Maria Kreuzmann (1877–1944) on February 27, 1898 in Obernburg am Main .

Kaspar Winter was a teacher in Eppertshausen from 1893 to 1906 and in Mainz-Mombach from 1906 to 1914 . During the French occupation he had to leave Mainz and fled to Offenbach am Main . In 1922 he was able to return to Mainz and became rector of the Goethe School and the Carmelite School.

Kaspar Winter was a Catholic and politically active in the Hessian Center Party . For this he was from 1919 city councilor in Mainz. On August 9, 1927, he replaced Otto von Brentano in the state parliament. When the National Socialists came to power in 1933, he had to resign from the state parliament and could not continue his political work. He was also removed from service as a headmaster as part of the Gleichschaltung and retired in 1933.

In 1928 he became a member of the Reich Inspectorate against Dirt and Trash in Munich.
