Katalin Szentgyörgyi (born January 1, 1979 ) is a former Hungarian long-distance runner .
In 1997 she was European junior champion over 5000 m and in 1998 in Ferrara European junior champion in cross country . In 1999 she became Hungarian and, with the national record of 15: 18.80 min, U23 European champion over 5000 m. Over the same distance she came in 14th place at the World Athletics Championships in Seville .
The following year, a fatigue fracture in his right foot prevented participation in the Sydney Olympics . At the European Cross Country Championships in Malmö , she became the first athlete to also win the adult title after the junior title.
In 2001 she was again U23 European champion over 5000 m. Shortly after setting another national 5,000-meter record, she suffered a pelvic fracture in a car accident in 2002 . After further injuries, she ended her career in 2004.
