Katarina Krpež Šlezak ( Serbian - Cyrillic Катарина Крпеж Шлезак ; born May 2, 1988 in Sombor , SFR Yugoslavia , born Katarina Krpež ) is a Serbian handball player who belongs to the squad of the Serbian national team.

Career

Katarina Krpež Šlezak played for ŽORK Vrnjačka Banja until 2009 . After the winger in the 2009-10 season for ŽRK Kikinda aground, she joined ŽRK Zajecar on. With Zaječar, she won the Serbian Championship and the Serbian Cup in 2011. In the 2011/12 season Krpež Šlezak was under contract with the Macedonian club ŽRK Metalurg Skopje , with whom she also won the championship and the national cup competition. She then played for the Slovenian top club Rokometni Klub Krim . With Krim she won the Slovenian Championship and the Slovenian Cup in 2013 and 2014. From summer 2014, she ran for the Hungarian first division club Érd NK . In the 2015/16 and 2017/18 seasons she was the top scorer in the Hungarian league. From the summer of 2019, she was on pause due to pregnancy. She has been under contract with the Russian club GK Rostov-on-Don since summer 2020 .

Krpež Šlezak has so far played 136 international matches for the Serbian national team, in which they scored 337 goals. With the Serbian selection, she took part in the World Cup in 2013 , 2015 and 2017 and in the European Championships in 2008 , 2010 , 2012 , 2014 , 2016 and 2018 . The greatest success in her international career was the 2nd place at the 2013 World Cup. At the European Championship 2018 she was the most successful goalscorer of the tournament with 50 goals.
