action

Inspector Mike Pemberton investigates a gang of gangsters and finds out that they are run by secretary Kate Westhanger. She is the boss of the gang and organizes numerous raids and other crimes. After a break-in at Lord Flamborough's bank that stole documents for a gold shipment, Pemberton concludes that the gang has committed another crime. However, he cannot arrest Kate because she has already disappeared. Shortly afterwards, the gold transport is hijacked and Pemberton is able to put Kate Westhanger in a disused mine. Her gang had left her there after trying to cheat on them and transferred the gold bars onto a truck. Together with Kate, Pemberton follows the gang by train, blocking a level crossing where he can stop them.
