Katharina Himmler (born June 6, 1975 in Munich ) is a former German snowboarder in the disciplines of slalom, giant slalom and parallel giant slalom, and finally boardercross .

Katharina Himmler passed her Abitur in 1994 and studied at the University of Munich , where she graduated in 2004 with a degree in business administration. Her home club is TSV Dettingen , and as a professional she was also active for the T-Mobile team . At the end of 1996 she contested her first international FIS race on the Oberjoch . A month later she contested her first World Cup race with a giant slalom in Lenggries and immediately won World Cup points as 23rd. In 1999, she won the giant slalom and parallel giant slalom titles at the ISF World Championships in Val di Sole . This makes Himmler one of the ten most successful participants in ISF World Championships . It was not until December 2001 that she came eighth in a parallel giant slalom in Whistler for the first time among the top ten in a World Cup race. The highlight of the season and at the same time a first career highlight was participation in the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City . At the competitions in Park City , she took eleventh place in the parallel giant slalom. Due to a broken ankle, she missed the next season and almost the entire season after that and only returned to the sport in March 2004 for the German Championships in Bischofswiesen , where she won the title in snowboard cross. From now on she switched to this discipline and one year later she was runner-up in the Roßfeld region behind Anna-Lena Zuck . In Whistler at the end of 2005 she came eighth in the top ten in a World Cup race. The 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin marked the end of his career . At the competitions in Bardonecchia she was 12. In her career, Himmler started in 32 World Cup races in four sub-disciplines. She achieved 20 placements in the points and three results among the top ten.
