Katharina Holzer (born June 29, 1998 in Villach ) is an Austrian volleyball and beach volleyball player .
Career
Indoor volleyball
Holzer came to volleyball through her classmates. She initially played for VBK Wörther-See-Löwen and the ATSC Wildcats Klagenfurt in her home country . With the Wildcats, the outside attacker came into the Austrian Bundesliga. During this time she became national runner-up and was in the cup final. In 2016 she was signed by the German Bundesliga club VfB 91 Suhl . For the club, the competitions in the Bundesliga ended early with the pre-playoffs and the round of 16 in the DVV Cup . Holzer also joined the Austrian senior national team as a junior national player , with which she took part in the 2017 European Volleyball League . In the 2017/18 season, Holzer made it to the quarter-finals with Suhl in the DVV Cup , while she missed the playoffs in the Bundesliga . For the 2018/19 season, Holzer moved to French runner-up RC Cannes .

In 2015 in Riga, Holzer became Vice-European U18 Champion with Ilona Kiss . With Nikolina Maros she reached seventh place at the U20 European Championship in Larnaka in the same year . In 2016 she came ninth with Ilona Radl at the U21 European Championship in Lucerne . With Maros she won the national tournament in Krems and was ninth in the U20 European Championship in Antalya . After Teresa Strauss had to do without her injured twin sister Nadine in 2017 , Holzer became her partner for the World Cup in Vienna . Strauss / Holzer received one of three wildcards for the tournament , but were eliminated without a win after the group stage.
