Katharina Kaali , actually Katharina Karviala (born July 18, 1977 in Helsinki ) is a Finnish - German actress .

Life

Katharina Kaali was born in Helsinki to a German father and a Finnish mother and grew up bilingually in Berlin . She completed an acting training at the Theaterwerkstatt Charlottenburg in Berlin. From 1999 onwards, Katharina Kaali appeared on the stages in Aachen , Kassel and Bremen , among others , before going to the Ohnsorg Theater in Hamburg in 2003 . There she played a successful role with the night club singer Lola in “The Blue Angel” in 2008, with which Marlene Dietrich once became famous.

In 2001 she made her television debut in the RTL series Section 40 , followed by various episode roles in Unter Uns (2004), the television film Siehst Du mich? , and in 2005 the pilot of the comedy series Sketchköppe . From 2006 to 2008 she was Diana Schneider , teacher and aunt of the main character, in front of the camera for the ARD series Turkish for Beginners . In Doctor's Diary she embodied a teacher, Ms. Schneider, in a cameo as an allusion to “Turkish for Beginners”. Kaali also played Diana Schneider in the 2012 film Turkish for Beginners .

Katharina Kaali was married to the actor Alexander Sholti until April 2005 . Kaali currently lives in Berlin .
