Katharina Pfeffer

Katharina Pfeffer (born October 15, 1951 in Wallern in Burgenland ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and was a member of the National Council .

education and profession

Katharina Pfeffer attended elementary school in Wallern from 1957 to 1961 and then switched to middle school in Vienna between 1961 and 1962 . Afterwards Pfeffer was at the secondary school in Frauenkirchen from 1962 to 1965 . In 1975 she attended night school for typing and office work.

Pfeffer worked as a seamstress and factory worker between 1965 and 1975 and was an insurance employee from 1975 to 1992. After that, Pfeffer was employed at the women's advice center in Neusiedl am See between 1992 and 1994 and manager of the SPÖ district secretariat in Neusiedl am See from 1994 and 2007.

politics

Katharina Pfeffer was local women chairwoman of the SPÖ Sankt Andrä am Zicksee between 1982 and 2002 and district women chairwoman in the Neusiedl am See district from 1998 to 2004 . Between 1986 and 1988 she was also the district chairman of the young generation in Neusiedl am See. Since 1987 she has been a member of the SPÖ Burgenland state party executive.

Pfeffer has been a member of the Sankt Andrä municipal council since 1998 and was a member of the Austrian Federal Council between November 10, 1994 and June 26, 1996 . She then moved to the Burgenland Landtag and on October 29, 1999, she moved back to the National Council, to which she was a member until October 29, 2006. After Norbert Darabos moved to the federal government of Gusenbauer , Pfeffer received his mandate and has been a member of the National Council since January 16, 2007. Before the National Council election in 2008 , Pfeffer announced that he no longer wanted to run for the National Council.
