The Katharinenkapelle in Ahrbrück (district Brück ), a local community in the district of Ahrweiler in northern Rhineland-Palatinate , is a Catholic chapel from the 17th century. It is a protected cultural monument .

history

The Katharinenkapelle is clearly visible above the confluence of the Kesselinger Bach in the Ahr and has an area of ​​15 × 5 meters. Until 1947 it served as the village church in the Brück district.

The hall building was repaired in 1925 and extensively restored in 1976. The steep path to the chapel has been redesigned.

Furnishing

Choir with altar (2010)

In the choir of the chapel there is a celebration altar with an antependium , an oil painting painted on canvas, probably depicting St. Depicting Catherine of Alexandria together with another saint. The altar with a Pietà from the second half of the 15th century has a sculpture of St. Katharina, typically shown with a wheel. Another sculpture of St. Katharina is in the church.

There is a harmonium on the gallery and there is also space in the small chapel.
