Kathrin Hanke (born Kathrin Anne Langer on November 9, 1969 in Hamburg ) is a German writer .

biography

After graduating from the Albert-Schweitzer-Gymnasium in Hamburg at the Leuphana University in Lüneburg, Hanke studied cultural studies with a focus on language and communication as well as music. While still studying, she started working as a copywriter in the Hamburg branch of the global advertising and marketing agency BBDO , where she stayed after graduating ( Magister artium ). Other agencies followed over the years, including a. Rapp + Collins, McCann Erickson, and Lintas . In the early 2000s , Kathrin Hanke started her own business. She continued to work as a copywriter and ghostwriter . In addition, she wrote from the late 2000s until the early 2010 he years for the Bastion-Luebbe Heftroman series emergency physician Dr. Kersten some episodes under a pseudonym . Since 2014 she has been working full-time as a freelance writer , primarily in the crime novel genre .

During her studies, Hanke published her first book under her maiden name Kathrin Langer together with Christine Demmer in 1994 at Gabler Verlag , the Ratgeber EVERYTHING you always wanted to know about communication. Further books followed as a ghostwriter for her. Hanke has been under contract with Gmeiner Verlag since 2013 . In the same year, the regional crime thriller Blutheide appeared here , the first volume of the so-called Heidekrimi series about the Lüneburg investigator Katharina von Hagemann , which she wrote in a duo with Claudia Kröger . By 2019 the author duo u. a. a total of seven volumes of the pagan crime novels together. Since then Hanke leads the detective story - book series continued alone.

With her works Die Giftmörderin Grete Beier (published 2017) and Die Engelmacherin von St. Pauli (published 2018), the author has also made a name for herself, especially in the true crime reading scene. Good reviews and positive reader responses caused them together with the Police Museum Hamburg - where it intensively for the book to Elisabeth Wiese , "the abortionist of St. Pauli" researched - in 2019 the then much discussed in the press and acclaimed picture book Hamburg's dark sides to publish.

Hanke has also written a historical novel as well as a romance novel . The latter was published by Maximum-Verlag under her maiden name Kathrin Langer .
