BBDO is a global advertising and marketing agency with headquarters in New York and branches in 79 countries. The name of the company is derived from the founders Batten, Barton, Durstine & Osborn . BBDO Worldwide is part of the Omnicom Group, a listed holding company with stakes in global market leaders in marketing and communication. The current CEO of BBDO Worldwide is Andrew Robertson, who has led the agency network since June 2004 as the youngest CEO in the company's history.

In Germany, Marianne Heiss has been Chief Executive Officer (CEO) together with Frank Wolfram, Chief Digital Officer (CDO) BBDO Germany since March 2019 . Till Diestel is the Chief Creative Officer .

history

BBDO emerged from two predecessor companies: the Batten Company founded by George Batten in New York in 1891 and the Barton, Durstine & Osborn (BDO) agency founded in New York in 1919 by Bruce Fairchild Barton, Roy Sarles Durstine and Alex F. Osborn . Both companies merged in 1925 to form the Batten, Barton, Durstine & Osborn Company .

In Germany, BBDO was founded in 1956 by Günther Gahren, Vilim Vasata and Jürgen Scholz under the name TEAM and later renamed BBDO.
