Marianne Heiss (born November 2, 1972 in Krems / Donau ) is an Austrian manager and author . Since June 2013 she has been Chief Financial Officer of BBDO Group Germany , based in Düsseldorf, and since March 2019 she has been its CEO.

Professional career

Marianne Heiß studied business administration at the Wiener Neustadt University of Applied Sciences with a focus on corporate accounting , auditing and management, personnel and organizational consulting. Her diploma thesis on the subject of “Short-term control instruments and measures to reduce fixed costs, in particular when income is falling in service companies” was awarded first prize by an Austrian jury of economic experts.

At the age of 21 she was the youngest company office manager at Dorint AG . At the age of 24, she took over the management of finance and accounting at the Sellbytel Group . From 1999 to mid-2002 she was in charge of the agencies of BBDO Holding Austria as Finance Director . From autumn 2002 until the end of 2005 she was a management consultant at BBDO Germany, responsible for the integration and optimization process in financial management.

At the end of 2004 she published the book Strategisches Kostenmanagement im Praxis, which was published by Gabler Verlag . From 2006 to 2011 she was Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of BBDO for the Düsseldorf, Berlin and Stuttgart locations of BBDO in Germany. In 2013 she was appointed Chief Financial Officer Germany. In March 2019 she became the head of the company (CEO).

Her book Yes she can was published in May 2011 . The future of management is female at Redline Verlag . She was invited to lectures and a workshop at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz in 2014 and at Justus Liebig University in Gießen in 2015 . She writes columns for the business and financial newspaper Handelsblatt .

In November 2015, he became Vice President of the General Association of Communication Agencies (GWA) .

Marianne Heiss has been on the supervisory boards of Volkswagen , Audi and Porsche SE since 2018 .
