Katija Dragojevic Nylander (born July 14, 1970 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish opera singer ( mezzo-soprano ).

Life

Dragojevic attended the Adolf Fredriks music class in Stockholm and sang in their girls' choir. She then studied at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. In 2000 she made her debut as Krista in Janáček's The Makropulos Case at the Théâtre Royal de La Monnaie in Brussels . Her international career led her as Kate Pinkerton and Siebel to the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, as Cherubino at the 2009 and 2011 Salzburg Festival , to Stockholm , Oslo and Luxembourg and, finally, in the spring of 2012, at the Milan Scala , as Varvara after Glasgow and Gothenburg, as well as Annio to the Edinburgh Festival and Sesto to the Drottningholm Palace Theater .

She was heard as a soloist at the Nobel Prize Banquet in Stockholm in 2000 , and she played and sang Zerlina in Kasper Holten's film adaptation of Don Giovanni , a role that she also performed on the stage in Baden-Baden - alongside Anna Netrebko as Donna Anna - embodied.
