Katja Boh

Katja Boh (born on May 16, 1929 in Graz , Austria ; died on August 8, 2008 in Ljubljana ) was a Slovenian sociologist , minister and diplomat . In 1991 she was appointed her country's first ambassador to Austria .

Life

Katja Boh was a professor of sociology at the University of Ljubljana . In 1990 she was Minister of Health in the Lojze Peterle cabinet . After he named her the first ambassador to the neighboring country in 1991, she left.

With the formal establishment of relations between the two countries, Boh was accredited in January 1992 . Five years later she retired from the diplomatic service due to reasons of age. Her successor in Vienna was Ivo Vajgl , who moved to Germany in 2002 and became Foreign Minister two years later.

Katja Boh died on August 8, 2008 in Ljubljana.
