Katja Dörner (born February 18, 1976 in Siegen ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ). She has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2009 and has been deputy chairwoman of the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen parliamentary group since 2013 .

Life and work

After graduating from high school in Marienstatt in 1995 , Katja Dörner studied political science, public law and literature in Bonn, York and Edinburgh. In 2000 she completed her Magistra Artium . From 2001 she was a personal advisor to the chairwoman of the green parliamentary group in North Rhine-Westphalia. From 2003 to 2009 academic advisor to the parliamentary group for the areas of school and further education, children, youth and family.

Katja Dörner was a board member of the Solidarity Modern Institute from June 2010 to July 2014 . On December 13, 2013 she was elected to the board of the German Children's Fund .

She is married, has a son and lives in the Auerberg district of Bonn . At the end of August 2019, she announced her candidacy for the mayoral election in Bonn 2020.

Political party

Katja Dörner has been active for the Greens since 1992, and became a party member in 1998. On June 14, 2014, she was elected to the state board of the Greens in North Rhine-Westphalia at the state delegates' conference in Siegburg .

MPs

Katja Dörner has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2009. Since December 2013 she has been deputy group leader of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen and political coordinator of the working group on knowledge, society and health. In the 17th electoral term, she was the child and family policy spokeswoman for her group, a member of the Committee on Family, Seniors, Women and Youth and the Budget Committee . Until July 2011 she was a member of the Children's Commission of the German Bundestag . Since the 18th electoral term she has again been a member of the Committee on Family, Seniors, Women and Youth and a deputy member of the Children's Commission of the German Bundestag , as well as the Committee on Health .

She has always entered the Bundestag via the state list of North Rhine-Westphalia and also ran as a direct candidate in the Bonn Bundestag constituency .
