Katja Schneidt (born October 14, 1970 in Hanau ) is a German writer .

Life

Katja Schneidt worked as an employment agency before she published the autobiographical non-fiction book Caught in Germany in 2011 : How my Turkish friend kidnapped me into an Islamic parallel world . The book was followed by TV appearances and a broadcast of the same name on RTL2. Caught in Germany was shortly after the release in Germany a bestseller , 12 weeks on the bestseller list of the " mirror was placed." The book also achieved best-seller status in Switzerland. There it was represented in the official bestseller list for 11 weeks and made it into the top ten. Bastei Lübbe , Weltbild , Bertelsmann and Reader's Digest brought out their own licensed editions. In 2014 the book was also published in the Czech Republic . In 2013 she published Liberation from the Veil: How I could break away from my Turkish friend and the Islamic parallel world, a sequel to Captured in Germany .

From October to December 2015, Schneidt was involved in the SME movement in Germany , of which she was a member and coordinated the press and public relations department. In the Hessian municipal elections in 2016 , Schneidt ran for the SPD in Büdingen . She has been supporting Frauke Petry and The Blue Party since 2017 .

Katja Schneidt lives with her partner in Büdingen.
