Katja Sindemann

Katja Sindemann (born July 17, 1969 in Münster ) is a German journalist , author , director and historian .

Life

Katja Sindemann attended elementary school in Worblingen and the Friedrich-Wöhler-Gymnasium in Singen, which she graduated with the Abitur. She received the Viktor von Scheffel Prize for her achievements in German. Her father was a doctor, her mother a teacher. She has two siblings. In 1989 she moved to Vienna and studied history, comparative religion and gender studies at the University of Vienna. She completed this course with a master's degree.

During her studies she started working for ORF . From 1991 she worked as a designer and editorial assistant in the science department for the programs Wissen aktuell , Audimax , Schatzkammer Erde . From 1994 to 2000 she worked as a TV editor for the Religion Department for the programs Kreuz & Quer , Orientation , Christ in Time , Religions of the World , Meeting Point Culture . In 1995 she designed the image film "The Oesterreichische Nationalbank. A company introduces itself", which has been used at trade fairs for years. Since 2000 she has worked as a writer and director for ORF / BR-alpha , HR and 3sat and designs documentaries on religious and cultural topics. In 2007 she headed the TV magazine "AVIDA - the wellness and thermal spa magazine" on Sat1.Österreich . From 2009 to 2013 she was editorially responsible for the program: Ethics in Conversation , which is produced by ORF and broadcast on BR-alpha. From 2012 to 2013 she is also editorially responsible for the show Austria's Universities - Rectors in Conversation , which is also produced by ORF and broadcast on BR-alpha. In 2013, she also headed the editorial team for the show WikiTV - Understanding Knowledge in the channel alpha-Austria (ORF-BR-alpha). From 2014 to 2015 she was the editor of the culture magazine Highlights on ATV.

In 2001 she directed a film festival in Vienna. From 2008 to 2010 she produced the theater newspaper theaterWal for the StadtTheater walfischgasse .

From 2004 to 2005 she had a project assignment from the religious studies seminar at the University of Lucerne , which ended with the exhibition Religious Pluralism in the Canton of Lucerne . In 2001 and 2007 she taught at the University of Bayreuth at the Institute for Religious Studies.

In 2006 her first book was published: Wiener Orte der Stille. Where there is peace and quiet in Vienna , the Zillen, Mixen & blue Danube the following year . Where Vienna is incredibly refreshing followed. In 2008 she published Das Wiener Café. The story of an eternal passion . In 2009 the Mazzesinsel cookbook was published. In 2015 she wrote the staged reading "Question not!", Which premiered on November 8, 2015 in the Volkstheater Vienna, at the event to commemorate the November pogroms in 1938, in cooperation with the Austrian Parliament. The play is about the unknown Nazi propaganda film in the Theresienstadt ghetto in 1942, fragments of which were found. The director was Irena Dodalová, who was deported to the Theresienstadt ghetto because of her Jewish descent .
