Katrin Gottschalk (* 1985 in Dresden ) is a German journalist . She was editor-in-chief print and online of Missy Magazine , a feminist magazine for women , before she was appointed to taz ( Die Tageszeitung ) as one of two deputy editors-in-chief alongside Barbara Junge on May 1, 2016 .

Career

Katrin Gottschalk studied cultural studies at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder) and cultural journalism at the Berlin University of the Arts . She completed a semester at Istanbul Bilgi University .

One of her first professional stations for Gottschalk in 2004 was the youth magazine " Spiesser ". In 2011 she started working as an online editor for Missy Magazine , where she set up the online edition of the title. Her texts have been published in the media Frankfurter Rundschau , Spiegel Online , taz , DRadio Wissen and Tagesspiegel , among others . At the Berlin University of the Arts she gives writing workshops on the subjects of pop culture , gender and media. In addition, she deals with issues of society , culture , internet culture , politics and " social justice ", in particular with gender images in the media, the women's movement in the GDR and "lazy women in pop culture".

In her function as deputy editor-in-chief, Gottschalk's main area of ​​responsibility at taz aktuell (2018) is digital projects.

In addition to her job, Gottschalk works as a moderator and gives lectures.
