Model of the bridge dwellings in Madurodam

Kattenbroek is a district of Amersfoort in the  Dutch province of  Utrecht . In the early  1990s  , the built-up area comprised around 4600 apartments. The quarter was built on the edge of the former municipality of Hoogland and named Boerderij Kattenbroek .

draft

The starting point for the design was to build an extraordinary residential area. In 2001, Kattenbroek's architecture once again inspired the construction of Gaoqiao New Town , one of the nine planned cities of the One City, Nine Towns project in Shanghai .

Division of the quarter

In Kattenbroek there are bridge houses modeled on the architect Leo Heijdenrijk and a project based on De Kasbah - “Closed City” by the architect  Piet Blom .
