Kayar is a coastal town in the department of Thiès in Thiès Region , located in the central west of Senegal on the Atlantic coast Grande Côte .
Geographical location
Kayar is the only town on the stretch of coast between the Cap-Vert peninsula and the Senegal estuary near Saint-Louis . It lies on the border of the Dakar metropolitan area and is about 60 kilometers from Dakar . Kayar is the only coastal town in the otherwise inland Thiès department.
