Kaynsberg is a district of the city of Osterfeld in the Burgenland district in Saxony-Anhalt .

Kaynsberg is located near Utenbach at the westernmost point of the municipality of Osterfeld. The district is on the road between Goldschau and Utenbach. Kaynsberg is located about 500 m north of the state border between Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia.

history

The Kaynsberg district takes its name from the Kayn family. It was also called Kaiserberg because Emperor Otto pitched his army camp here in 1213. The hamlet-like village was first mentioned in a document in 1471.
