Keigo Yamamoto

Keigo Yamamoto ( Japanese 山 本 圭 吾 , Yamamoto Keigo ; born February 4, 1936 in Fukui Prefecture , Asuwa County) is a Japanese multimedia and video artist .

life and work

Keigo Yamamoto was born in Fukui in 1936 and studied at Fukui University , where he graduated in 1958. From 1990 to 2000 Yamamoto taught at the Musashino Art School in Kodaira and was then professor at the Kyoto Seika University in Kyoto for seven years .

Since 1955, painting , sculpture , photography , light art and performance have been among the areas of art in which he has been active. In 1968 he started to make a name for himself as a video artist.

Well-known works by him are: Communication Video Game Installation so-called Communication and Art in 1971, Recognition Gap of an Act from 1977.

The From Tokyo to Fukui and Kyoto Video Exhibition , in which he participated, was shown in 36 cities and six countries.
