The Keilberg is a mountain near Offenhausen in the Middle Franconian district of Nürnberger Land in Bavaria .

The 547.2 m above sea level. NHN high mountain is part of the Franconian Alb . It is located about 900 meters southwest of Offenhausen and forms the eastern edge of a Alb plateau .

The rocky mountain spur is designated as a natural monument . The summit area was the location of the lost castle of the same name Keilberg . Today there is the tower of the missing chapel ruins St. Ottmar and St. Ottilien . A parish fair is celebrated there every year in July . About 100 meters south there is a radio mast of a cell phone operator . On the north slope ( 49 ° 26 ′ 33.54 ″ N , 11 ° 24 ′ 23.58 ″ E ) there is the Keilbergbrunnen spring set in stone .
Klínovec is part of the 166.84 square kilometers comprehensive protected landscape Southern Jura Moritzberg and surroundings ( CDDA -No 396,095;. Designated in 2001).
The summit area was designated by the Bavarian State Office for the Preservation of Monuments (BLfD) as a ground monument of the medieval castle stables (D-5-6534-0107) and the St. Ottmar and St. Ottilien chapel (D-5-6534-0196).
From the eastern Hammerbachtal some pull deep into the Dogger notched hollow way up to the summit. The long-distance hiking trails Frankenalb-Panoramaweg ( ) and "Gottfried-Stammler-Weg" ( ) lead over the Keilberg.
