Keith Ablow

Keith Ablow (born November 23, 1961 in Marblehead , Massachusetts , USA; full name Keith Russell Ablow ) is an American psychiatrist and writer .

Life

While studying at the Johns Hopkins Medical School in Baltimore , he also freelanced for the local newspaper as well as for the Washington Post and Newsweek . He was also an editor and producer for Lifetime Medical Television .

After completing his training, he was medical director in various public institutions and practiced in his own clinic in Chelsea, Massachusetts . In addition, he continued to write articles for newspapers and magazines and from 1989 published a number of non-fiction books on the subject of psychiatry .

Ablow gained greater prominence as a psychological consultant in court cases, which has also made him a frequent guest on television programs such as Oprah and Larry King Live , where he comments and analyzes current cases and events. His popularity even gave him his own television show, the Dr. Keith Ablow Show . The talk show , which was first broadcast on September 11, 2006, was withdrawn from the program after a few months because the ratings did not meet expectations.

In addition to specialist books, Keith Ablow has also been writing a series of detective novels since 1997 . The protagonist of his books is the forensic psychologist Frank Clevenger from Massachusetts, who uses forensic psychiatry , which is a specialty of Ablow, to solve his cases . Six novels had been published by 2005, five of which were also published in German.

Keith Ablow is married with two children and lives near Boston .
