Kelsea Ballerini
Kelsea Nicole Ballerini (* 12. September 1993 in Knoxville , Tennessee ) is an American country pop - singer .
Career
As a teenager, Kelsea Ballerini went to Nashville to pursue a career as a singer. It took her four years to find a label for her releases in Black River Entertainment. Her first single, Love Me Like You Mean It , was released in 2014 and became a huge hit. It became the most played song on country broadcasters, rose to number 5 in the US country charts and was also successful in the pop singles charts . It eventually went platinum .
In the same year an EP was released and six months later the debut album The First Time . As the highest position in the country charts, it reached number 4, stayed in the charts for over a year and a half and achieved gold status . With Dibs and Peter Pan it also produced two singles, both of which also became radio hits. Both went platinum and Peter Pan was also a number one hit on the country charts. In 2015 and 2016 Ballerini was nominated for best singer and in the newcomer category at the CMA Awards . She won the ACM Awards in 2016 as a newcomer. She was also one of the five nominees for newcomers at the Grammy Awards .
Her second album Unapologetically was released on November 3, 2017 . Although it reached number 7 on the official album charts, it was no longer as successful as its predecessor. With Yeah Boy , Legends and I Hate Love Songs it contained three gold singles. For the first time, the album also placed her in the UK charts in Europe . The following year she was the singer with This Feeling by the Chainsmokers and so also came into the charts in other European countries such as Austria and Switzerland. On April 16, 2019, she was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry .
