Kelsey Joan Dickinson (born July 30, 1994 in Salt Lake City ) is an American biathlete and cross-country skier.

Life

Kelsey Dickinson was born in Salt Lake City and grew up in Winthrop , Washington state . After graduating from Liberty Bell Hight School in 2011, she studied science and philosophy at the College of St. Scholastica , where she graduated in 2018.

Career

Kelsey Dickinson first skied when he was five. She started biathlon in high school and from then on also took part in national cross-country races. In 2014 she was accepted into the development team and took part in the Junior World Championships and the first races in the IBU Cup . Between 2015 and 2018, with the exception of the opening races in Sjusjøen , Norway , she did not contest any international competitions until completing her studies. In 2018 she returned to the IBU Cup 2018/19 and competed in several competitions, but mostly missed the points. At the Biathlon World Championships 2019 in Minsk , the highlight of the winter of the IBU Cup, she achieved her best result with a 60th place in the sprint. In the first race of the IBU Cup 2019/20 , the sprint in Sjusjøen, she finished second behind Karoline Erdal and ahead of Maren Hammerschmidt . In adverse wind conditions shot Dickinson - as well as the German Vanessa Voigt - only two errors and thus better than the rest of the field and secured despite mediocre runtime, the second podium finish in the IBU Cup since the second place in the individual competition in Canmore by Lanny Barnes in February 2012.
