Identification
Kenennon ( Greek Κοινόηνον ; Latin Coenoenum ) is a place name that Ptolemaios used in his Geographia (Ptolemaios 2, 11) set of coordinates as one of the places (πόλεις) in northern Germania , near the seashore with 30 ° 00 'longitude ( Ptolemaic longitudes ) and 50 ° 00' latitude.

So far, according to Ptolemy, the place in Germania magna could not be reliably located. An interdisciplinary research team led by Andreas Kleineberg, who re-examined and interpreted the Ptolemaic coordinates from 2006 to 2009, is currently locating Kenennon in the area near Waren (Müritz) in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .
