Lakibourgion
Lakibourgion ( Greek Λακιβούργιον ; Latin Laciburgium ) is a place name that Ptolemaios created in his Geographia coordinate system from around 150 as one of the places (πόλεις) in northern Germania , near the sea coast , with 39 ° 00 'longitude ( Ptolemaic longitudes ) and latitude 56 ° 00 '.
localization
So far the ancient place could not be located with certainty. Abraham Saur considered Rostock to be this place in 1595 (Theatrum Urbium p. 162). An interdisciplinary research team led by Andreas Kleineberg, who re-examined and interpreted the Ptolemaic coordinates from 2006 to 2009, is currently locating Lakiborgion in the area near Ueckermünde in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . Ueckermünde is located at the mouth of the Uecker in the Stettiner Haff .
