Marionis altera ( Greek  Μαριωνίς ἑτέρα ) is a place name that Ptolemaios used in his Geographia (Ptolemaios 2, 11) set of coordinates as one of the places in northern Germania , near the sea coast (πόλεις) with 36 ° 00 ' Longitude ( Ptolemaic longitudes ) and 55 ° 50' latitude are given.

So far the ancient place could not be located with certainty. An interdisciplinary research team led by Andreas Kleineberg, who re-examined and interpreted the Ptolemaic coordinates from 2006 to 2009, is currently locating Marionis altera in the area of Lalendorf in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . A Germanic body grave of the Lübsow group was discovered near Lalendorf, dating back to the first century AD.
