Kenji Grillon (born October 28, 1989 ) is a French karateka . He has the 4th dan in karate and is a two-time world champion and multiple European champion in kumite . He starts for the French club AS Sarcelles.

Life

Kenji Grillon started karate when he was eight. He had his first successes in competition very early on . After he was called up to the French youth national team in 2005, he had his first international successes the following year. On November 25, 2012, he had his greatest success with the world title up to 84 kg in Paris . In the final at the Palais Omnisports in Paris , he fought in front of over 14,000 spectators against the Japanese Ryutaro Araga, whom he clearly defeated. On the same day he was also world champion in the team with the French national team . In May 2013 he became European champion in kumite in the weight class up to 84 kg in Budapest . On October 21, 2013, in the final of the World Combat Games in Saint Petersburg, he again defeated the Japanese Ryutaro Araga with 1: 4 and won the gold medal in the weight class up to 84 kg. At the WKF Karate World Championship in 2014 he was unable to participate as defending champion. He broke his foot at the 2014 Paris Open. At the 2016 European Championships in Montpellier, he became European champions with the France team. They defeated Turkey in the final.
