Kenji Kawai

Kenji Kawai ( Japanese 川 井 憲 次 , Kawai Kenji ; born April 23, 1957 in Shinagawa , Tokyo , Japan ) is a Japanese composer who composes music for movies , computer games , anime and television productions . Among other things, he contributed the music to Mamoru Oshii's films Ghost in the Shell and Avalon - Game for Your Life as well as Hideo Nakata's Ringu and Ip Man .

On January 9, 2020, an asteroid was named after him: (117582) Kenjikawai .
