Kenji Suda ( Japanese 須 田 健 仁 , Suda Kenji ; born February 26, 1966 in Otaru , Hokkaidō ) is a former Japanese ski jumper .

Career

On December 15, 1990 Suda made his debut in the ski jumping World Cup . At the end of the jump on the normal hill in Sapporo he was 45. A day later he jumped from the large hill to 17th place. A year later on December 15, 1991, he managed to jump into the top ten for the first time on the same hill with 9th place and thus also the first win of World Cup points. At the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville , Suda jumped from the normal hill to 39th and from the large hill to 17th place. In team jumping he finished fourth together with Masahiko Harada , Jirō Kamiharako and Noriaki Kasai . At the ski flying world championship in Harrachov in 1992 , Suda flew to 21st place. From 1993 Suda began to compete in the Ski Jumping Continental Cup . On March 5, 1994 in Lahti in team competition with the team, he made it onto the podium for the first time by finishing second. He achieved this placement a few days later in the individual competition in Örnsköldsvik . It was his only podium finish in an individual World Cup competition.

In 1994 and 1998 he was again in the squad for the Olympic Winter Games , but was not used in any competition. On February 5, 1998 Suda played his last World Cup competition. For the 1998/99 season he only competed in the Continental Cup and once again reached 55th place in the overall Continental Cup ranking with one point, before ending his active ski jumping career in 1999.
