Jirō Kamiharako ( Japanese 上 原子 次郎 , Kamiharako Jirō , born March 19, 1966 in Sapporo ) is a former Japanese ski jumper .
Career
Kamiharako made his international debut on December 14, 1991 in Sapporo as part of the Ski Jumping World Cup . After a 19th place in the first competition, he already achieved his best career result in the World Cup in the second competition on the following day with 16th place and thus just missed the World Cup points by one place. At the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville , where the jumps were held on the Tremplin du Praz in Courchevel , Kamiharako landed on the normal hill, tied on points with Ted Langlois and Magnus Westman . On the large hill, he came in 25th. In the team competition he reached fourth place together with Masahiko Harada , Noriaki Kasai and Kenji Suda and thus narrowly missed a medal rank.
In March 1992 Kamiharako started again in the World Cup in Trondheim and Oslo . However, he was clearly the points in both World Cups. At the following ski flying world championship in Harrachov in 1992 , which also counted as a World Cup, he was eliminated from first place overall after a jump of only 87 meters and was only 34th. At the end of March, he started again in the World Cup in Planica . In the team world cup, he finished eighth with the team. In his last World Cup competition, he jumped to 39th place.
Kamiharako's last international competition was in the Ski Jumping Continental Cup . However, like the Norwegian Stig Arne Erichsen, he reached only 11 points in the 1993/94 season and thus ranked 127th overall.
After the end of his active ski jumping career, Kamiharako became a snowboard trainer and played golf.
