"Cowboy" Kenna James (* 18th December 1963 in Chicago , Illinois as Kenna coarse ) is a professional American poker players .

biography

Raised in Chicago, James and his family moved to Albion , Michigan , in 1972 at the age of nine . He later studied fine arts at the Michigan School of Art in Jackson for two years . He was married to the poker player Marsha Wagoner until 2008 and has two children. In 1985 he came to Los Angeles to become a movie star, but never made the big break. However, he made a few appearances as an extra and supporting actor in soap operas . When his agency had to close, he attended a croupier school . This was his last regular job in 1997 and 1998 before turning pro in 1999.

Poker career

Career

Even before his professional career, James was able to make money in a few smaller tournaments. Bigger successes took a long time to come, however, so that his first participation in the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas in 2001 brought him only 5135 US dollars . The first major win was $ 65,740 in $ 200 Limit Hold'em at the 2002 Grand Slam of Poker .
