Kerstin Eschwege

Kerstin Eschwege , née Dietzel (* 1971 ) is a German educational scientist and university teacher .

From 1989 and 1990 to 1995, respectively, Kerstin Eschwege studied teaching at grammar schools with the subjects of music and history at the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg and the existing Magdeburg University of Education . She completed her studies with the 1st state examination. In addition to studying to be a teacher, she began a second degree in pedagogy , psychology and history from 1993 to 1997 , which she completed with a Magistra Artium . She then did her doctorate between 1998 and 2000 as a graduate scholarship holder of the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg. In 2001 she completed her doctorate. The topic of the dissertation was the living environment of children and young people during the Second World War, illustrated using the example of the deportation of children from schools in what is now Saxony-Anhalt . Between 2003 and 2006, Kerstin Eschwege was a scholarship holder to promote young female scientists in Saxony-Anhalt . In 2010 he completed his habilitation on education and memory. Educational theoretical considerations in the field of tension between biographical and cultural memory using the example of members of the victims of the SED dictatorship . She then worked as a private lecturer at the Chair of General Pedagogy at the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg with the right to teach educational science. In 2013 she was appointed to the board of the Center for Teacher Education (ZLB) at the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg. From 2014 she was Deputy Scientific Director of the ZLB.

In 2016, Kerstin Eschwege became professor for social education with a focus on elementary education at the Clara Hoffbauer University of Applied Sciences in Potsdam .

For several years she has been working on a voluntary basis on the board of the Friends of Magdeburg Museums.

Kerstin Eschwege has two children and lives in Magdeburg.
