Kevin Johann Bryant (born August 22, 1994 in Ulm ) is a German basketball player . He has been part of the Wiha Panthers Schwenningen squad since 2020 .

career

Bryant, whose father is from the United States and whose mother is German, is a national of both countries. In 2011 and 2013, Bryant, who initially played at SSV Ulm 1846 as a youth, won the German U19 championship with the team from the Urspring School . In the 2012/13 season the winger was used in the Ehingen / Urspring School syndicate in the 2nd Bundesliga ProA .

Bryant decided to continue his basketball career in the United States, playing in the 2013-14 season at Sunrise Christian Academy in the state of Kansas , before moving to Newman University ( NCAA Division 2) in 2014 . In the 2014/15 season he did not play due to the NCAA's access regulations. He played a total of 82 games for Newman until 2018 and scored an average of 8.4 points and 7.0 rebounds per encounter. During a trial training session with the Basketball Löwen Braunschweig in the summer of 2018, Bryant suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon, at the end of January 2019 he was signed by the second division club Rostock Seawolves and was on the field in nine games by the end of the 2018/19 season, in which he played for the Mecklenburgers Average scored 2.3 points.

In the summer break of 2019, he moved to the Bundesliga club BG Göttingen . During the 2019/20 season, he was used in four Bundesliga games, but remained without points. In June 2020, second division Wiha Panthers Schwenningen announced their commitment.

National team

In 2012, Bryant took part in the Albert Schweitzer tournament with the German U18 national team, and in 2013 and 2014 he played with the U20 team at the European Championship.
