Kevin Maltsev (born July 4, 2000 ) is an Estonian ski jumper .

Career

Kevin Maltsev started on December 10th and 11th, 2015 for the first time in two competitions in Notodden, Norway in the FIS Cup , where he was disqualified once and once finished in 50th place. After further starts in the FIS Cup, he took part in the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2016 in Râșnov , Romania , where he finished 54th on the normal hill. On August 20 and 21, 2016, he made his debut in Kuopio in the Continental Cup , where he reached 47th and 60th place. Since then, further starts in the Continental Cup have followed regularly, but so far he has only managed to achieve a top 30 placement and thus Continental Cup points three times (in February and March 2017) (as of February 2018). At the European Youth Olympic Festival 2017 in Erzurum , Turkey , he was 24.

In February 2018, Maltsev started at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Kandersteg , Switzerland. He finished 18th on the normal hill. In the same month he started in the ski jumping competitions of the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang . In these, however, he failed with a 56th place on the normal hill and a disqualification on the large hill twice in the qualification.

At the Estonian Championships in Otepää in 2018 , he won the gold medal in the individual competition. At the 2019 Junior World Championships in Lahti , Finland , he took 28th place in the individual competition. He was then nominated for the 2019 World Championships in Seefeld in Tirol , where he was 44th on the large hill and 30th on the normal hill. On March 17, 2019, he achieved his best Continental Cup result to date with a 13th place in Zakopane, Poland .
