Kevin Rob Martin (born January 4, 1993 in Alberta ) is a professional Canadian poker player and reality television participant.

Personal

Martin is from Lethbridge . He worked as a radio host , but gave up the job for his poker career. Martin participated in the third season of the Canadian edition of Big Brother . From March 2017 he was again a participant in the format and won the fifth season. Martin lives in Calgary .

Poker career

Martin played online under the nickname GarlicXToast . From May 2016 to February 2019 he was part of Team PokerStars under the nickname KevinM987 . He then moved to the partypoker team , to which he was a member from May to September 2019. You can follow his game regularly on the streaming portal Twitch , where Martin has more than 80,000 followers.

Since 2015 Martin has also occasionally taken part in renowned live tournaments . In June 2016 he was successful for the first time at the World Series of Poker in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and cashed in a tournament of the No Limit Hold'em variant . In mid-January 2017, Martin also made the money in the first edition of the PokerStars Championship and finished 134th in the main event in the Bahamas for prize money of over 7,000 US dollars . In mid-July 2017, he finished fourth at the Wynn Summer Classic in Las Vegas for around $ 12,500. In January 2018, Martin finished second in a PokerStars Caribbean Adventure event in the Bahamas for more than $ 35,000 in prize money. From June to August 2018, he won three Calgary tournaments with prizes totaling more than 100,000 Canadian dollars . At the end of October 2018, Martin finished runner- up in the Run It Up Reno main event for just under $ 50,000.

In total, Martin has earned more than $ 300,000 in poker in live tournaments.
