Kevin Méndez , full name Alán Kevin Méndez Olivera , (born January 10, 1996 in Trinidad ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

societies

The 1.74 meter tall midfielder Méndez was at the beginning of his career from mid-2003 to January 2015 in the ranks of Club Atlético Peñarol . However, he was used neither in the Primera División nor in any other competitive game with the "Aurinegros" in the professional team. Shortly after the turn of the year, AS Roma signed him . From there he was loaned to AC Perugia Calcio a few days later , but was not used by the Italian second division team either. At the beginning of February 2016 he switched to FC Lausanne-Sport on loan . In the remainder of the 2015/16 season, he contributed to the Swiss team's promotion at the end of the season with four goals in 15 games in the Challenge League . In the 2016/17 season he played six games (no goal) in the Super League . A loan transfer to Viterbese Castrense followed in August 2017 .

National team

Méndez was a member of the U-15 national team , in which he was first used by coach Alejandro Garay on September 21, 2011 in the 4-1 win in the friendly against Paraguay. He was part of the squad for the 2011 U-15 South American Championship . In total, he ran 14 times in this national team and scored an international goal.

He was then called up in Uruguay's U-17 team. There he made his debut under coach Fabián Coito on October 17, 2012 in a 6-0 win in a friendly against Chile. With the U-17 he took part in the U-17 South American Championship 2013 in Argentina in April 2013 and at the U-17 World Championship 2013 in the United Arab Emirates. He made 36 international matches and scored nine goals in this age category.

Since at least March 2014 he has been a member of the Uruguayan U-20 national team overseen by coach Fabián Coito . On April 17, 2014 he celebrated his debut with a starting eleven in the 1-1 draw against Chile, also under the direction of Fabián Coito. Méndez was also nominated for the Uruguayan squad at the 2015 U-20 World Cup in New Zealand . So far (as of May 28, 2015) he has been used in nine U-20 international matches and scored once in the opposing goal.
