Kevin Sammut (born May 26, 1981 in Sliema ) is a former Maltese football player on the position of midfielder .

Career

Sammut began his career with Sliema Wanderers in 1998 . However, there it was rarely used in two years. In the summer of 2000 he moved to the Ħamrun Spartans and won a regular place. A year later he returned to the Wanderers and was able to establish himself in the team. In the seasons 2002/03 and 2003/04 he was able to win the championship. In the summer of 2004 he was loaned to FC Msida Saint Joseph for one season. After the loan ended, he joined FC Marsaxlokk , where he again won the championship in the 2006/07 season . After four seasons, he was signed to FC Valletta in the summer of 2009 , with whom he won his fourth title in the 2011 championship . He then returned to the Spartans.

In August 2012 he was suspended from UEFA for ten years for manipulating the European Championship qualifier Norway against Malta on June 2, 2007 in Oslo, which Norway won 4-0. Sammut announced his appointment. On December 3, 2012, UEFA tightened the sentence into a life ban.
